Seen quite a lot of interest in these the past while, so thought I’d do up a quick blog about them for anyone that hasn’t doven into the world of Carcassonne yet (OR are so addicted they needed to get a gift for their next door neighbours!)

Carcassonne is one of those games designed for pretty much everyone - easy to get into, diverse so you can play 2-5 players if you like, changes every time (tile-based) and can get tricky if you’re thinking ahead a couple of moves. Add in an expansion or two and then… well things can get a lot tricker for everyone!

Carcassonne usually runs around the $35.00 mark for the base set, expansions tend to run around the $21.00 mark (all the way down to $6.99 for one of the mini-expansions) so its not only fun, but affordable at the same time to expand the gameplay.

This year marked the second anniversary for Rio Grande to release what they dub the Carcassonne Big Box - a collection of the basic Carcassonne as well as their pics of expansions for the year. (Princess & The Dragon, Inns & Cathedrals, Abbey & Mayor, Traders & Builders and the mini expansions (River II, Count, King & Cult).

So what’s really really kewl about the Big Box other than all the stuff? She runs at $89.99 (saving about $60 give or take if you bought the various expansions and such on their own).

Rumour mill also has it we’re one of the better places in town for pricing (hearing rumors of others charging upwards to $150+ for these) which for the life of me I can’t fathom but we’re happy to get Stampeded on Fridays so yeah for us! :-)

Wanting a copy? Best to get your order in before Mondays when we place our restock order as these tend to (literally) disappear as they are in transit (and haven’t even arrived yet!) Don’t call or email before Monday hits? No worries, just call over and we’ll see how booked up things are for copies.

Cheers!  Jess

As many probably noticed on the homepage, we have another wave of restocks and new titles landing at Revolution here at some point on Friday (and she’s chaulked full of really good stuff so I thought I’d do a quick recap here for anyone missing out on what’s inbound).

Axis & Allies 1942

Bang! Basics
Settlers Of Catan - restocks p’plenty
Carcassonne Big Boxes

Cheers!  Jess

Hey All,

Starting to see more verified rumours of restocks with the new Magic: CCG set 2010 (M10). Restock waves *should in theory be seen here (and around town) next week sometime!

Important to note, restocks apparently have been heavily allocated (aka the folks at Wizards didn’t resupply enough to fill all the orders) but we’re expecting to see some at some point next week.

…and much to everyone’s delight, YES we’ll be forming the M10 binder as soon as we get our hands on stock! Stay tuned for updates but at least there’s light at the end of the reprint tunnel finally!

Days of Wonder announced a new expansion for the popular Ticket to Ride series a few days ago - Ticket to Ride: Europa 1912. This expansion adds fresh new gameplay to all versions of Ticket to Ride with the introduction of Warehouses & Depots to the games.

The Ticket to Ride Europa 1912 expansion for the Ticket to Ride series includes 101 Destination Tickets — the 46 original tickets, plus 55 new ones that enable 3 new variants to the Ticket to Ride Europe map: Europe Expanded, which adds 19 new routes to the original 46; Big Cities of Europe, with tickets to 9 major European cities; and Mega Europe, which uses all the new routes as well as the 46 original Destination Tickets.

This expansion also introduces Warehouses & Depots — new game rules and pieces that create an additional strategic layer and can be played with any of the Ticket to Ride maps. Wooden Train Depots are placed on cities selected by each player. Throughout the game, each player’s Warehouse will accumulate Train cards and those who have the foresight, clever timing, or just plain good fortune to build a route to a Depot can make off with a fistful of Train cards. Depot placement and skillful Warehouse tactics become a key part of a winning Ticket to Ride strategy!

An original copy of any complete game in the Ticket to Ride series is required to play with Warehouses & Depots. New Destination Tickets are for use only with Ticket to Ride Europe.

As an additional bonus, we’re offering a 10% discount on all preorders made for Europa 1912 if you pre-pay your preorder! This only applies if you’re pre-paying in advance either online or at the shop.

Just had wave one of restocks and new fun stuff arrive for the coming weekend (second part landing tomorrow afternoon).

So far, we’re happy to announce that both Small World and Pandemic are back in stock as well as restocks on the Ticket To Ride game series and Settlers of Catan games as well.

As of the time I’m writing this, Small World we’re getting a bit picked clean on but no worries - more arriving tomorrow! This week we’ve seen quite the influx of Settlers players (something to do with the weather one might wonder?) so we’re seeing stock levels on the Basic Settlers and Basic 5/6 Player extensions starting to get a bit low on. More will be arriving next week; however, we’re recommend giving us a call (403-282-5200) to ensure we have a copy for you.

Also have a partial Magic CCG restock happening as well on boosters & intro decks (sorry nothing M10 / 2010 as of yet folks but hopefully sooner over later!) More stock arriving next week as well!

Tomorrow we have Dominion’s first expansion Intrigue restocks arriving, as well as more Small World, Killer Bunnies Starters, more Ticket to Ride games, and a whole bunch more stuff. I’ll drop a post here when these have landed.

Hey All,

New arrivals and restocks for the holiday long weekend just arrived. Be sure to pop in and nab something to play - seems Saturday will be decent for weather but later in the weekend our rain seems to reappear.

Anyways, here’s some of what just landed:

- Full run of Carcassonne and Carcassonne expansions

- Stone Age from Rio Grande is finally back in print and at the shop again. Very similar as put by many players to that of Agricola, so if you’re in that vein of game playing check this out. We have a open shop copy for anyone wanting to give this a whirl before picking it up as well!

- The new Martians!!! Game is in from the folks at Twilight Creations as well! Wake up one morning with the first wave of Martian attackers basically - save mankind from enslavement in the best fashion that only Twilight Creations can provide! Going to nab a demo copy of this as soon as the next stock wave comes in but definitely check this one out!

- Full run of Zombies!!! and related expansions for all the long weekend haul Zombies!!! gaming-thons out there!
- , Bohnanzas, and a bunch of other games as well…

Phew, fingers tired now. End of post.

Jess @ Rev

The Fields of Honor have arrived! Featuring the famed battlegrounds themselves you can take your fight to Alterac Valley or Arathi Basin, or even try for the instantly famous El Pollo Grande loot card and log in riding a giant chicken. The new set is on sale now.

In addition to the Fields of Honor, our WoW: TCG singles section has doubled in size with our new Drums of War singles binder. We have even lucked upon a ultra rare Red Bearon loot card (in-game bear mount).

Well that was sure exciting…. happy to report we HAD Magic 2010 (or M10 as everyone has dubbed) in but due to heavy demand… well, everywhere on Earth it feels… we’re currently blown out of stock across the board.

Internal joke is we wanted to whip up a new 2010 singles binder but even the couple boxes we tucked aside went and sold on us… go figure :-)

2 Pieces of Good news though…

1) Found what is probably the last 2010 intro deck box in Canada which will be landing on Friday July 31st. Not QUITE as much as I wanted, but wasn’t about to say no either :-)

2) Other better part of news, 2010 appears to be making a resurface here around mid-August according to our suppliers so keep an eye on the Blog here for updates and etas.

Going to be heading off on a bit of a holiday here with the family starting on the weekend, so we’ll be taking online ordering offline for the next week here. We’ll have things back up and running come next Friday.

If anyone has any requests in the meanwhile, feel free to call us at (403) 282-5200 and ask for Sandy.

Thanks all, have a great week!

Jess @ Rev

Just to help out everyone who’s been helping our phone ring off the hook the past couple days :-)

In a bit of a holding pattern regarding the upcoming World of Warcraft CCG release: Fields of Honor booster packs. Typically Upper Deck releases these first in the US, then it typically takes a couple days for them to land up here, north of the border.  Release date seems to be listed at June 30th in the US btw.

Blah news? We’ll, we had hoped to see these today (Friday) but are still are in a bit of a holding pattern.  (I might go so far as to thank the Canada Holiday on Wednesday for the delay in shipping I believe, but that’s just my theory).

Good news? Supplier is local here in Calgary, so as soon as they land we’ll make sure to nab these as soon as we can!

Feel free to drop us a line Monday afternoon as the shop (403) 282-5200 and hopefully we’ll have some great, fun news to report!
